Hi. I just installed dosbox. I mount the directory where the executable file is for the game. But, when I type the executable and hit enter dosbox tells me 'Illegal command' - and the file name. I know that the files exists in that directory.
I'm very new to dosbox and would like to run my old dos games under Vista.
Any jelp will be appreciated.

Did you change to that directory/drive? Should look like
mount c d:\oldgames
c:
cd mygame

If that doesn't help type dir (inside dosbox when you're in that directory).

The folder this game is in c:\games\lsl1.
I type mount c c:\games\lsl1
I do a dir and it doesn't display ther contents of that directory even though it tells me it c:\games\lsl1 is mounted.

James - you are standing in Z. The game is in C.

It is like turning on the light in one room, and complaining that you can't see what is in the other room.

What exactly am I typing wrong!!!
mount c: c:\games\lsl1.
Now, DosBox then tells me 'Drive C is mounted as local directory c:\games\lsl1.
What now?? I do a dir and these files that come up are not in that
directory!
When I type sierra.com which IS in the c:\games\lsl1 directory I get an Illegal command: sierra.com.

I know how DOS works and I've printed out DosBox ReadMe but it didn't help a bit.
