Is it possible to run carma 1 in old "-hires" mode? Going through glidos doesn't actually udgrade the resolution. It is still in 320x240 mode, and after playing in that res for about 10 minutes my eyes really hurt. Theres no facility in glidos for command line parameters either.

I installed the 3dfx patch too. Trying to just run the exe with -hires doesn't work either. i also looked on the forums here but i seem to be the only one with this problem.

My rig is: Intel centrino duo 2.0ghz, 2gb ram, 120gb hd, windows xp. Geforce 7200.

I hope there is a solution because this is one of my favourite dos games 🙁

Make sure that you are running 3dfx.exe and not carma.exe through glidos. I use glidos, and carmageddon works very well for me.

Yes, if you are still seeing low res then something has gone wrong in the setup. Running the wrong exe is a likely cause.

that worked thanks, now its in 3dfx mode. Pity that wasn't just mentioned on the glidos website's carmageddon page 😒

The only trouble now is that theres absolutely no sound at all. I tried clicking the glidos dos shortcut and selecting "run with vdms" but it doesn't put sound in the game.

Fixed it, just had to rerun the sndsetup.exe file through glidos so it could autodetect sound properly. Works fine now. THANKS! 😀
