Hi

I’m new to DOSBOX and the like and but I think it’s great as I have already with the help of the this forum managed to get a few of my old games running.

I am using 807HMz processor and 640MB of RAM and have a 64MB NVIDIA video card. And am using DOSBOX-0.72

I am currently trying to get Stonekeep to run, I have searched and searched this forums and I have read all of the posts I can find on Stonekeep, and I think that some deal with my problem but they don’t seem to provide me with a solution.

Here is my problem, I have managed to install the program with no problems as far as I can ascertain but when try to run the it get this error in the middle of the screen

‘ERROR: Connot find CONFIG file. Please run SETUP'

I ran the setup but it has made no difference.

I can’t see a CONFIG file in the stonekeep file, or on the CD.

I am not great with this sort of stuff,

Any guidance or solutions would be most appreciated.

Many Thanks

g

Hello. Welcome to the forums.

We would like to know what commands have you tried so far. We need more info in order to be able to help you. Have you read some of the guides?

On second thought, I think less than 1GHz may not be enough juice for most 386 protected games under DOSBox.

Intel i7 5960X
Gigabye GA-X99-Gaming 5
8 GB DDR4 (2100)
8 GB GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (Gigabyte)

Ok thank I can see that, just another reason to add to my list of reason why I have to replace/upgrade this piece of junk. Maybe I’ll try Stonekeep again when I have scraped together a newer machine.

On a side note and to save making another topic in the forum I might as well say it here. Yesterday I was running my windows95 Time Commando, having changed the compatibility within executable and changed it to Windows 95 and also Disable Visual Themes. Also making a short cut onto my desktop so it run and it ran fine even after open and then closing the program. But when I booted up this morning and ran the game, as soon as I touched a key I got a message saying

‘application error d:\timewin.exe

The program encountered a problem at address 004306f0 and cannot continue.
Click on OK to terminate the application.’

I mean it was working fine then now I won’t run anything but intro and that only if I don’t push keys.

Any idea?

I think that this should really go in a different area, but there is no sense in starting a new topic for it to my mind. i have should have tell me and i won't make the mistake again.

Many Thanks
