I had an NX7400 laptop from HP with a core2duo processor t5500 and dosbox worked fine. i upgraded to a HP NC8430 laptop with a Core2duo processor
T7200 and i got hell of alot problems running dosbox. the graphics are sometimes weird when running demo's like Cd2 and second reality. and when they change screens i also experience hickups in the sound sometimes as much as one second. i tried all settings in the config file. i have this problem with dosbox 0.62 0.71 and 0.72 so i dont think its a version problem.. the problem is in the whole thing. so not only running demo's but all the other software i try to run on dosbox as well.

Video card i use is : Ati radeon mobility X1600
Soundcard HD sound from intel

Any more information i will be happy to supply to solve my problem i was soo dissapointed that this laptop got soo much problem.

also i tried upgrading all the drivers and direct X to the latest standards. i use a windows XP professional setup. didnt tried linux as windows is the base installation for this laptop.

hope someone can help me out...!!!

some additional information i see that when there is the hickup the window will popup of dosbox. i tried settings static resolution but none of that helps. it seems something to do with resolution change in the dosbox.

Are the colours weird when using dosbox in windowed mode, too?
Does it affect all games you tried, or only a few?

Maybe re-download second reality, and be sure you mount it correctly
(so you have to type something like "cd second" before running it).
