I recently installed Carmageddon following the instructions like VDM Sound and Glidos and whatnot. The game works fine. The sounds are great. The graphics are beautiful. The game runs smooth as can be. BUT! There is no CD music.

Now, I have 3 hard drive partitions C:, D:, and E:, 1 virtual CD drive F:, and 2 CD drives G: and H:. I installed Carmageddon using the H: drive. Only if I have the CD in that drive, will it do the opening video. G: is the primary CD drive and it has the internal audio cable hooked to it. However, the music will not play if I have the CD in the H: drive, G: drive, OR if I have the virtual CD drive F: mounted to an image of the Carmageddon CD. It won't play even if I have the virtual CD drive mounted to the image AND the actual CD in the H: drive, or G: drive.

I've even tried disabling the virtual one and changing the primary one to F: and that won't work either. I've tried changing the D: partition to F: and changing the primary CD drive to D: and that won't do it either. The music will play in Windows Media Player if the CD is in ANY of the CD drives, including the image file mounted by the virtual CD drive.

The CD audio is not mutted and it is at full volume.

Just because the guidelines said so, I'll include these specs:

Motherboard: Abit AV8
Processor type and speed: AMD Athlon64 3500+
Amount and type of RAM: 1GB DDR SDRAM
Video board w/ RAM amount and type: nVidia GeForce 6800 w/ 256MB
Sound board: Onboard sound (primary) and Chaintech AV-710 (for foobar2000)
Operating system: Windows XP Professional Corporate

I can't think of anything else to try.

EDIT: Fixed! I just had to edit CARM3DFX.BAT to be
@echo off
set fx_glide_no_splash=1
sapucdex
voodo2c
and copy SAPUCDEX.EXE and the DLL of the same name to the Carma folder.
