Recently I installed Dosbox 0.72 then with Frontpage Sport Football 96 and Strike Commander. Both programs seem to run well and stable. Great job to Dosbox programers. 😀 The only let down is the use of my USB Joystick 😢 . After reading the many posts in this forum (so I am not the only one with this problem) and tried out the many suggestions, like editing the Dosbox.conf and changing the cpu circle, I am still unable to use the joystick satisfactorily. In Frontpage Football for example, after calibrating, it seems to work for a moment and then it just refuses to work again. I suppose quite a bit is needed to be done to make the use of joystick in Dosbox a more pleasing experience. Here are some of my suggestions:
*A calibrating utility within the Dosbox.
*Better documentation about the use of joystick if automation in detecting the joystick is not possible.
*Since most Dos games do not need a ten buttons joystick, making a modern joystick behaves like a two buttons joystick is acceptable but the problem is how (ok, edit the dosbox.conf) and how to make it works flawlessly.

By the way, I am using Windows Vista.

Best regards to all the programmers who make Dosbox a good tool.

I manage to solve the Frontpage Sport Football Pro 96 by setting the CPU circle to 10000, and timed=true, 4-axis, and turn on the Analogue setting on the Joystick.

I am still working on the Strike Commander. I am able to calibrate the joystick in the game and it seems to work in the menu screen with the setting timed=false. But when come to the game play, it just does not detect the joystick at all. I may have to set to 2-axis. Will try it later today.
