How do I successfully change window resolution? My desktop resolution is too large to be able to play any DOS games I have properly.

So I tried changing the window resolution using the config file (windowresolution=1024x768) with various resolution values but this doesnt change Dosbox in the slightest.

Is there something else I need to change?

Games I'm testing are:

Theme Hospital
Sim City 2000
Settlers 2

Thanks.

Well its currently set to ddraw. Doesnt change anything though.

Surface doesnt seem to do anything either. I thought this wasn't related to the resolution?

Absolutely no difference, I thought that was just the different graphic engines to use & nothing to do with the resolution?

Are these games meant to be able to change resolution??

did you try
windowresolution=1024x768
output=overlay

Alternatively try
scaler=normal2x forced
