I've done my best to read what looked like the most pertinent parts of the forum, and I couldn't find anything related to my question ... so here goes.

Has anyone ever heard of a background interpolation app that would allow you to "fuzz up" the image for old games that can run in XP but need a sound card emulator?

I have Dark Forces, and it emulates perfectly with all the settings I've got. Just like the original and better, since it isn't going through DOXbox, the frame rate is amazing, which makes the control spectacular. But it would be nice to have a double buffering option ... either somewhere in VDMS (I have v2.1.0) or as a standalone app (maybe with a hotkey to disable it).

Besides this, I'm wondering what video rendering technology Dark Forces uses (such as Glide, OpenGL, ect) so I can attempt to figure out what options I have to mess with the video if no such "background interpolation" (or double buffering) app exists.

Any ideas? (am I the only one to wonder about this?)

I don;t know about an app, but the stretch function on an LCD monitor on a non-native resolution seems to do a good enough job of making the image blurry.

DF doesn't use any 3D APIs (Glide or Opengl...), it's pure software rendering. So, there is no way for any application to change the image unless you run in an emulator like dosbox.
