Forgive the subject line or if its been repeated. Here's the deal, long time back i did download dosbox but my total ignorance i couldnt figure it out so i gave up. However i digress, I found a site called classicgamingpresents.com It has a good bit of dos games that you can download using XP. Works well, only there is no sound with the game (darklands) when i exit the game the dosbox window will be open and the line CONFIG:Loading settings from config file dosbox.conf MIDI:Opened device:win32 The blinking cursor will do nothing if i try to enter anything. No matter as i'm a dunce. And when i close the dosbox window i'll get an application error. I really doubt i'll be able to do anything, the music settings in the games don't work... Oh yes i believe its using a older version so that may be it,,,Just wondering on what the pros may say...thanks

Woa woa...how legal is that website? They have full priced games for only a few Euros, some of which cannot be legit (vegas for 5??)

--> Link <-- to a VOGONS thread about the questionable ethics of this company/website...

@Adamas: Not meaning to be rude, but it is unlikely you will get any help here with a game acquired from this particular website.

Please ask the people who sold you the game for support, or even better, return the game for a refund, and get a legal version instead.

Then, if you still have problems playing a legal version of the game on a current version of DOSBox, feel free to ask your questions here.

avatar_58: sometimes it feels good to be a smartarse, so here i go:

£ = British Pounds
€ = Euro

£ 6,95 = € 9,6238 = USD 14,1085 = CAD 14,1861 (i'm from Europe, so i'm using "," instead of ".")

Not exactly cheap i'd say, for a download without artwork, etc.

Anyway, the site looks shady. How come these "businesses" are often located in the UK? I remember a "Butterfly"-thread, that site was also UK based. Maybe there's a loophole in the laws there, or the feds are too busy watching footage from all the surveillance cameras.

Even the abandonware sites would tell you to steer clear of that site. I would not send them nothing, not even a virus.

Not cheap? Vegas isn't even that old, at my local Ebgames it's still full price. Theres also games that are even newer on that website for less. I sincerely doubt these are the deals of the century, they are most likely illegal.

Heres a test - did your download have DRM Addams? Some sort of special launcher or CD key? Theres not a single digital distributor that doesn't use some form of protection on their games.
