Still doesn't work, nothing happens when I change VIDEO MODE in the game...i'm stuck at 320x256 😜

Suggestion: Load S3VBE instead of UniVBE.
And maybe the "S3 optimized" setting is broken, did you try screenmodes 0, 1 and 2 as well?

What exactly is the problem? Are the game graphics messed up in resolutions other than 320x or does the game not even switch to the higher resolution?

If the game doesn't switch to the higher resolution then it's possible that the .cfg file is set to read-only.

IIRC, there is a shortcut key in game to switch between resolutions. I seem to remember there being a menu option to change the resolution as well.

It doesn't switch to any higher res.

You can choose default screen res in the game setup and ingame by pressing ESC and then choose VIDEO MODES

since I can "edit blood.cfg" if should be "read only" ?
