Is there anyway you can zoom out on a dos game?
I have tried changing the res in window display settings but it does nothing to dosbox when running the game.

There is no option in the game settings to change it either

But can you get into the games config files and change them in dosbox before running the game like using config or summit

The screenshot is to close to buildings and stuff i want to pan out if possible so i can see more of the soroundings
Thx Dan

nope, not possible by Dosbox, game resolution is controlled by the game engine. For example to view more of Ultima7 or Ultima8 you have to use Exult or PEntagram, new game engines for these games. With Dosbox this is not possible.

1.So what your sayin is it can be done but with a different program?

2.If so do I need a specific program for each game, or do these programs run a whole range of games?

3.Where do i get one?

1. No, it cannot be done in general. For the games mentioned by Dominus, new engines have been made, but those are specific to those games.

2. Yes, they are specific and only exist for a handful of games.

3. Google is your friend. Searching for Exult gives the Ultima 7 engine as a first result, searching for Pentagram gives the Ultima 8 engine as the 5th result for me. For other games, try Googling for the game name. If a remake exists you will find it, but very few will actually provide the functionality you're looking for (which doesn't mean they're not worth checking out).
