Yup, that one rotatable joystick handle --the poor man's version of rudder pedals. Do you really think Microsoft Sidewinder started it all?

Well think again. 😉

(hint: scroll down until you find the ad for Cheetah 125 Special).

Never thought this thread would be that long, but now, for something different.....

Is it wrong that the first thing I noticed is the glaring grammatical error at the top of the page? 😀

Yes, it’s my fault.

It seems people still don't know how to scan or properly store scanned non-photographic images. JPEG sucks for that task.

I assume that even British English does not use an apostrophe (') to designate the possessive form of "it." "Its" is the possessive of "it", "it's" is the contraction of "it is."

Actually that depends on the year of publication. Apostrophe contraction is something that changes from time to tome throughout the evolution of the english language.

For example : James' giant peach can be written in a variety different ways - all correct, yet all in each can be in different apostrophical states, such as "James's" etc.

I assure you, using "it's" as a possessive has never ever been correct. ;D

Also, in keeping with my grammar Nazi status, the correct use of an apostrophe in your example would really be "James's":

Many respected sources require that practically all singular nouns, including those ending with a sibilant sound, have possessive forms with an extra s after the apostrophe. Examples include the Modern Language Association, The Elements of Style, and The Economist. Such sources would demand possessive singulars like these: Senator Jones's umbrella; Mephistopheles's cat. -Wikipedia

(And yes, I am consciously omitting the next two bullet points on Wikipedia's Apostrophe article that support the use of an apostrophe with no s, because exceptions like that are bad and add unneeded complexity -- particularly wholly arbitrary ones based on religion. ;D)

Yes, it’s my fault.

Wow, you posted something about joysticks and kept it clean, I'm impressed, Kreshna.
apostrophical and grammar Nazi, you learn things every day, thanks; is that like the soup Nazi (or fascist)?
