Ya it was. You Usually started with your main building on left or right side and work your way to the other end. The graphics were good though, better than most other side scrollers at its time, I was playing probably 1994-96 if i remeber right.

Senyu, sorry I don't know what game that was. I did play a similar game around 1990 which was all military side scrolling. You aquired a steady dollar amount and enemy tanks and troops entered the screen from the left and you had to construct vehicles in your base on the right to send to confront them.

I have two games I am looking for as well, both driving/rpg sort of mix. The first was post-apocalyptic and you drove around city to city avoiding holes in the road and maybe oil or flames. When you arrived in the city you could get out of your car and enter and explore buildings, pick up powerups, avoid radioactive goo and enemies. It was not Car Wars.

The second was really wierd. top down perpective and you were an alien... insect? or some such racing through the undergrowth and foliage to make delivery runs to other colonies. Enemies could be evaded and outraced or fought. There were several races and I seem to remember you being very small like insects.
