During the game, you have to use a certain data card on the ComPost in Sickbay. When I go to use the Compost for the first time in sickbay, the game crashed back to DOSBox and I get this message:

We're sorry, you've encountered an internal game error. Please restart your game and restore a saved game. If you have continued problems, please report the following information to Sierra Technical Support:

Error 47: Not an object: $0
Script 64994/$f29

WTH does that mean? is there something i have to edit in the .conf file for dosbox to fix this?

I don't think you can fix that error by tweaking DOSBox. It looks like something is wrong with your game-character, and the items you are carrying around, most likely that data-card you are talking about.

Do you remember when/where you picked up that card? Do you have a saved character from *before* you picked it up?

OK new things. I can use the compost BEFORE I get the item. so yeah it seems to be something like you've mentioned. I'll keep fiddling.

EDIT: OK Im stumped. I fiddled with video settings and what not. Im out of ideas. Seems that when I merge these 2 items together, no good comes of it. I'm gonna try reinstalling the game from another copy.

EDIT 2: Installed from another copy I had. SAME RESULT! WTF! what else could it possibly be? I guess I have to wait till everyone else wakes up to get an answer or suggestion. is 4:45am PST 😁

PROBLEM SOLVED! I got my hands on DB .63 and it worked. Albeit the loading time was a bit more than newer versions. Has anyone gone through this game in version .72? Cause I got the same problem in .72 and .71. So it wasnt either copies of the game that i used. It's just broken at that point in the game in the later versions. at least for me. Thanks for the attempt at help tho!

Have you tried different core= and cycles in DosBox 0.72? IIRC, DosBox 0.63 uses normal core as default and a fixed cycle rate of 3000 whereas 0.72 uses "auto" for both settings.

i would if i knew which savegame it was 😀 i'll try the core thingy in a bit. im just trying to get through the game. i keep having to swap between 2 versions of dosbox while also swaping between an ISO and an actual CD. i can only get through certain parts by using a combination of those things. wierd huh?
