Hi,

I have recently encountered a problem with the megademo by TSP. I downloaded it from scene.org. With the newest CVS and machine=vgaonly support for the dirty tricks of TSP became available so I wanted to watch this demo but did not succeed. Here is what happens:

1. I mounted my demo directory as C:
2. cycles=fixed 3000, core=normal, machine=vgaonly (but I also tried other modes)
3. I started DosBox, C:, cd megademo, megademo
4. the config menu appears and seems to work
5. tried any combination of choices
6. Video adjustment comes on my screen, this works only with machine=vgaonly, low cycles are best
7. Now the error message: "Some of our megademo files is screwed up! Please get a new copy!"
8. So I redownloaded but nothing changed.

Anyway I highly doubt that the files are damaged because I found this Compatibility between i386SX and Am386SX thread where the original poster explains that only a previously configured megademo works under certain conditions. Perhaps anybody could provide a megademo.cfg to test if works with a valid config file.

Try loadfix or xms/ems disabling, otherwise bad luck.
