With help from a response from my previous post "Lemmings Graphics Problem" I was able to play the game normally without the level preview screen appearing "inverted". I now have a problem with the music. On 0.72 the music works fine, but I am using 0.65 which fixes the graphics issue.. and now the music every so often skips and it's also annoying. How can I fix this if possible? (I also get the occasional crash to the main title screen, where if I right-click it continues on, but sometimes it doesn't work and I have to go to a minimized screen and back and the problem is fixed. Once again, that doesn't bother me.. I need a solution to the music skipping problem please.

Also keep in mind that the same problem occurs when I am playing Lemmings, Oh No More Lemmings, Holiday Lemmings 1994 and any demos.

Music skipping usually one of two things

- you have other software running besides Dosbox that takes CPU power away which causes the skipping at certain times (for example, a virus scan)

- you set the cycles too high/low.

Also, pre-0.70, music and sound skipped a lot more I noticed.

That makes sense actually.. I never thought of that, i'll try disabling certain programs such as virus scan, etc. and turning off my internet connection when I play Lemmings. I'll post an update when I try it. Thanks.

I tried disabling the internet and anti-virus, The music skipping problem still exsists. I am wondering if there is something else running that I should be disabling?

What are your cycles set to?

1+1=10

Also, the priority of Dosbox (Normal, High) affects the sound skipping too - it's set to high by default for me.

Do you mean priority set by high or Windows?

Wait! never mind, I actually found the problem. It was the CPU causing the problem as pointed out in a helpful reply. I went into task manager and watched it to see what was causing the problem, and it was some file that I had no idea what it was.. I took the risk and ended it, no harm done, and the music problem was fixed. Thank you all for your help. 😀
