I am trying to get Conquest of the New World to run on my friends computer. It works with no problems on XP. But when i try to load it on vista all i get is a blank screen. I have not messed around with the settings yet but i plan on it here in a few mins...

commands i used for mounting

mount c c:\game DIR
mount d c:\cd DIR -t cdrom
also tried
mount d c:\cd DIR -t cdrom -ioctl

I loaded the CD on to the hrad drive. works fine on XP.

is there anything i need to do to get it running on Vista

fullscreen? Be sure you stick to windowed mode for testing at first.
Did you install the game under vista+dosbox?

Im usein window mode.

im installing useing Dosbox. very slow install...

i also should add i did get installed without dosbox but when i run it to play that is when i get the blank screen.

What do you get when you install it within dosbox under vista?

How to speed up things is in the readme.

useing Dosbox it loads the cdrom files normal but when it is "Building conquest of the newworld" it is EXTREAMLY slow. but everything looks fine.

not useing Dosbox. i was able to install it just fine and nor speed. but when i try to run it in window mode it just gives me a blank screen...

Now i am thinking that it is just EXTREALY Slow also when trying to play in on vista.

After the VERY LONG install it is running smoth with no tweaking of the config file
