Greetings,

I am wondering if anyone can recommend a motherboard with the following specifications:

Intel Socket 370
Supports 133mhz RAM
At least one ISA slot
For use with 1ghz Pentium III (7.5 multiplier at 133MHz bus speed)
Cannot have onboard video

Thanks!

ASUS CUBX-E.
Meets all your requirements, have 2 ISA slots. Only tualatin core processors require special adapter or handmade fix with this board.

What chipset do you require, or is this not important?

If you don't mind using the VIA Apollo chipset, I have used a lot of socket 370 QDI Advance boards. They do a very fast one called Advance 10T, which is able to support an Intel Tuatulin CPU. It has just 1 ISA slot, can support pc-133 RAM, has 133-FSB, supports Intel CPUs and does not have onboard video - you supply the video with either an AGP card (2x max speed I *think*) or a PCI card. If you use the ISA slot, you then have 4 PCI slots left over to use. (One slot is slightly wasted with an AMR slot.)

Please note that I abandoned using this board when I realised it was too fast for my DOS gaming requirements. You may wish to bear this observation in mind.

Good luck. Best regards, Robert.

Is this a board with unofficial support for 133mhz FSB? The manual and specs that I could find say 100mhz. There is a jumper block combination for 133mhz, although my current board has that - but doesn't actually work properly at that speed.

Thanks

I have had bad luck with more recent VIA chipsets, but don't know anything about the 370 era models. I have slower systems available, but would like to put this 1ghz CPU and 133mhz ram to use for more demanding 3D (but not necessarily 3D accelerated) dos games.

Unfortunately, I can't find any QDI Advance 10T boards for sale 😒

I'm only using a Monster 3D Voodoo1 PCI card and Sound Blaster Pro ISA card. The AGP cards that I have are probably not too demanding, but need to have the kind of VESA support needed for games like Skynet in 640x480.

Thanks

I found an interesting board on ebay, but I don't know what location you are, so I just used my local ebay (UK)

The item number to copy-and-paste in to the search box is -

110265607344

It isn't cheap, but it looks very fast.

Please note that the Advance 10T pops up on (UK) ebay once every two weeks or so, so don't panic if you think this is the board you need - you'll get one sooner rather than later.

I've used this seller before actually (to get my motherboards in fact!!), and he's very good, no problems at all.

Expect to pay about £10 for a 10T board, with nothing on it.

Best regards, Robert.

CUBX-E has official 133mhz FSB with proper FSB/PCI divider, only AGP bus ratio rise in this case. This issue related to BX chipset, but not to particular BX based motherboard.
