Hi.

I have Vista Home Premium SP1 - Spanish version.
I have a Spanish-layout keyboard.
I have Dosbox 0.72.

I had to wipe out my hard drive and reinstall everything. Before that, dosbox worked just fine.

The problem is I cannot use the rightmost SHIFT and all of the CTRL and ALT keys. Also, keys that I normally used with the US layout to put chars like : and \ don't work.

I have tried changing the layout from none to SP, trying also US, both manually changing the config file and using dosbox. But the keys I've mentioned before are still stuck.

So the problem is:

· Basically, I cannot input special chars because most of the required keys are locked somehow.
· I cannot use ALT and a certain code number because ALT is also locked.

Please help. I'm desperate.

I'm sorry for all the trouble caused.

Doing a deep search in this forum gave me the clue to solve this.

For other people in the same situation, this is how it works.

MICROSOFT IS A (coarse word, sorry). Windows thinks that you keyboard has a strange layout (japanese in my case), so you have to do this:

1) Open the Device Manager
Open the start menu
Right click on computer
Select manage (Entering PA account details when prompted)
Select device manager
Change the Keyboard Driver
2) Open the keyboard tree
Right click the keyboard
Select “update driver software…”
Select “browse my computer for driver software”
Then select “let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”
Select HID-Compliant device or something similar (don't know exactly because it's written in spanish in my computer)

Tadaaaa!!!

Now, I have acted as a fool. So please, forgive me, Mr. Managers.
