Just came across a feature article about Full Throttle, thought I'd post about it here:

The rise and fall of Full Throttle: a conversation with Bill Tiller (Adventure Classic Gaming)

I didn't know about any plans to do not just one but TWO Full Throttle sequels, ill-fated as they were. This was an interesting read all in all I thought.

LucasArts had in fact hoped to do two more adventure titles, one being a direct sequel in the same style as the original and the other in 3D which had neared completion a couple of years ago (there are screens around on screenshots.net from memory) along with Sam n Max 3D whose assets were sold to Telltale Games. LucasArts also planned an action game based on the road combat sequences from the original as well as a cartoon series, but due to LucasArts staff being fired in successive waves, many projects (including remakes of The Eidolon and Rescue on Fractalus) died as a result.
