I know I'm not supposed to post issues with a specific game, but I only have one dos game so there's no way to tell whether my problem is with the game or dosbox. Anyways, I have a 32 bit vista, and when running the game Day of the Tentacle, I receive sound, but no subtitles in the cut scenes and subtitles but no sound while playing the actual game. Any ideas what is going wrong?

did you configure the game ? else try with gus emulation disabled. Thought DOTT worked fine in dosbox.

I configured the sound issues once the game was loaded in dosbox, but do i need to configure it before I load it? I'm not sure how to do so.

To what values? DOTT surely works fine with full sound+music.

Lets see, I configured it to:
-Soundblaster & compatibles /Adlib for music

-Soundblaster and compatibles with port 220, IRQ 7 and buffer 6 for voice.

Those were the most logical options for me in the in-game setup menu, but I'm quite naive when it comes to dosbox.

Yes that's fine.
Might depend on the version of the game (floppy/cdrom/whatever) how
it behaves exactly, maybe somebody knows more about it.
