Hi. I have a problem I don't understand. I was using DOSBox 0.72 for Mac on my MacBook Pro CoreDuo (OSX 10.5) without a glitch. Then, my Mac had an accident last month and I had to change the hard disk and some memory.

Now, I was re-installing all my old programs and for some reason, I can not make DOSBox find the configuration file. It always starts in its default mode. I need it to read the config file since I'm using MIDI and I don't know of a way of telling DOSBox how to look for midi devices once you are inside the program.

The program actually works fine if I just try to run a game, but I don't know why it doesn't find or read the configuration file. The file is named "DOSBox Preferences" without an extension, and I placed it in the /Library/Preferences folder and in the Applications folder as well, but DOSBox doesn't seem to find or obey it.

I also tried using the config -writeconf command. It did write a file, but it doesn't obey it as well. Please, I need some advice on this one, I have no clue about what happened!

Thanks in advance.

OK, figured it out after some searching. Stupid thing, actually.

In case someone wonders, config file should be called dosbox.conf
I don't know why I was with this "DOSBox Preferences" file, maybe from an earlier version?

I thought that DOSBox Preferences was the right name for Mac OS X. Have to check the sources for that though.
dosbox.conf is for local directories though

Sorry, forgot to mention that the dosbox.conf worked when I put it in the Dosbox folder. It doesn't work in the Library/Preferences folder and I still don't know why it doesn't find the DOSBox Preferences file, but at least I got it working again.
