Is that possible? Automatically take a screenshot every frame (every few frames) or every second (few seconds)?

Right now it isn't, and I don't think it would be of much use. I think DOS games run at 30-60 FPS, that would mean ending with thousands of pics just after a few minutes of gameplay.

Use the built-in video recorder and extract the frames you want using a conversion program like mencoder.
