hello everybody i'm playing this game under dosbox and there are no problems it seems, the thing is that if you run it with vdms sound, latest release,it is too fast i think, with dosbox 0.60,as suggested by dosbox site,it is really slow, obviously you modify the cycles, but i don't know how fast it should be,so has anyone an idea of the right amount of cycles?

Depends on your system (CPU type, GHz amount).

Please try latest version of DOSBox first.

Suggestions on DOSBox site means it has been tested with that version of DOSBox last time,
doesn't mean it doesn't run with newer version.

Do not increase CPU cycling too much, because:

NOTE: Once you increase your DOSBox cycles beyond your computer's maximum
capacity, it will produce the same effect as slowing down the emulation.
This maximum will vary from computer to computer.

Increase frameskip to relieve graphics re-drawing.

It seems to work just fine for me using DOSBox 0.72 with core dynamic and 10.000 fixed cycles.

it is strange indeed that you say to set the cycles to 10.000,cos i checked out the forum on abandonia.com,and they say that setting the cycles between 500 - 750 or maybe 1000 would do,at 10.000 it flies and i can't really handle the map,but thanks anyway chaps

i do agree with you,but putting 10.000 cycles you cannot just follow the icon of the shield on the map and if oyu try to move the map it just darts away, plus you do not have time to keep the game under control given that you have to control quite few different characters in real time, honestly i find it easier to play on around 1.000 cycles,i have to wait to be back at home and try it on my legendary 486 dx2,modern machines suck....
cheers anyway
