I guess most of you are not affected, but...

Some mixed news from Steam... at least here, in Spain.

- Good news?: Now you can buy steam games in € or £, not in $...
- Bad news: ...but they apply the rate of change 1€=1$ (not 1€=1.44$, as it is)...
- Worst news: ...and if you use a proxy to buy from US or UK store, they ban your account.

UK steam users have a better rate of change, so it is not a big issue for them, but almost any other EU steam user have to pay 27% more money for the same game.

Some links:
- Steam announcement.
- Answer from the community.

Btw, any EU consumer may file a complain to the european commision, on the ground that ANY EU citizen may buy goods in ANY country, so forbiding purchases on UK store (where it is cheaper) is illegal.

I have traveled across the universe and through the years to find Her.
Sometimes going all the way is just a start...

I'm selling some stuff!

Yeh buying stuff of steam is just to insane pricey now. Only the weekend deals are decent enough. Even when it was all still dollars you could buy it cheaper in stores and they have way more overhead with personnel, shop you name it.

Yeah, I have only bought Hl 0.99$ from there. Their prices are insane. A fresh newly released retail box real game costs 49.99$.

The digital-only version of that very same freshly newly released game costs...

Yeah, you guessed it right.

49.99$

And I thought my jokes were bad.

What then are the benefits of a digital purchase?

You only get ones and zeros..

Nothing to touch or smell..

And still 0% discount.

I'll think thrice before I purchase a digital download from anywhere again.
