I remember reading a couple of months ago about a guy who lost wifi whenever he played games that used more of his GPU than most games. Turns out the interference from the graphics card was dropping his connection.

His WiFi may be switching off in power save mode while his screen is being used in a non native res and possibly scaled by the GPU.
