The default settings are the most compatible, they will run almost every game out there, except for the very old ones, which will run too fast or need CGA or Hercules video cards.

If you have a collection of DOS games, no matter how small, your best choice would be to use a frontend, such as DBGL or D-Fend Reloaded. They allow to create indivudual config files for every game, thus solving this kind of problems.

So DosBox is only good for one game at a time? can more than 1 game be set in Dosbox, i just got used to setting it up for street rod 2 and i wouldn't still have a clue how to set it up again for another game. And is their any good car games where you can run lan/wireless lan for dosbox?

As I said, most games will work with the default settings, so it's not that big a problem. Most games I've set up with frontends and which didn' like the default settings all needed was to change the "cycles" value from "auto" to a fixed ammount you can calculate in a minute by testing.

As for racing games for DOS with multiplayer support, check this out:

a) With IPX support:

http://www.mobygames.com/browse/games/dos/rac … g/tic,12/ti,82/

b) With modem support:

http://www.mobygames.com/browse/games/dos/rac … g/tic,12/ti,83/

But don't ask me how to set up multiplayer with DOSBox, I've never done that.

Oh ok fair enough, thanks for your help at least you answered my questions 😉 one more thing do you reckon you could post some guide line on setting up games in Dosbox, as i said before i have little experience with setting these sort of thing and im only just getting use to Dosbox, I've only set up one game.

Thanks Again: Solidus
