here is my question

I'm using dosbox since the zipzag archiver won't open this game duke3d.exe

so I'm using the dosbox and I mount the C: drive and then direct the pathname to open dosgames which is where I have the game dn3dsw13.shr

then i simply type dn3d.exe and it then says it's missing a .grp file

in the dn3dsw13.shr file which I open with zipzag the dn3d.grp file is right underneath the .exe file

does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? this is such a pain in the ass, but I loved duke nukem 64 which was basically the same game as duke nukem 3d exept a few differences and cutouts, right?

I tried install.exe and it didn't work at all

the only command that worked was duke3d.exe and it says it needed the .grp file

anyone else played this game?

redownload the shareware installer from 3drealms.
That comes with an install.exe that unpacks dn3dsw13.shr

just go to 3drealms website and download shareware installer?

and it'll load dn3dsw13.shr?

i'll try it out, I'll install that in my games folder as soon as I can

wait, are you saying redownload the game?

then use what? the zipzag and run the install.exe and hope in the second download that the install.exe works?

or are you saying to download a patch that'll have the file needed to run the game?

maybe I'm reading this wrong anyways

i should be looking for just a shareware installer, correct?

I'll try looking for that

what is the problem with downloading the game ?

if you unzip it it contains:

I tested this install.exe and it works fine. (unpacking duke3d.grp does takes ages though.)

I don't think he extracted it. Must have mounted the archive as C:\.

I did mount the archive as C:/

but first i tried RUNNING the game with zipzag

i didn't try actually extracting the game, but I could try it now

if it doesn't work, I'll try downloading the game, thanks a lot!!
