Hi everyone. I have a very strange problem with VDMS on my machine.
Every game runs just fine, the graphic, the controls and every other aspect of the game itself, except for the Music (not the FX, only the music), which is correctly outputted and sounds good but it plays at a slower speed than the original music should be.

My machine has the following configuration:
P4 2000
1gb ram
Geforce 4600 TI
Asus M/B
Creative SB live 5.1
OS Win2k SP3
DirectX 8 and 9 (tried to make it work since last year)
latest VDMS beta (2.1) with launchpad

I am not a pro-modder, but I tried to modify every single bit of configuration in the launchpad. Midi, Vesa, OPL, EMS/XMS Timing cap, DMAs, and whatever i could do.

Since the game plays at its original speed with no problems, there was no need to use external slowdown programs, so i didn't try those.

Just to remind: the music slowness applies on every kind of game i try. Every game plays fine, looks good, sounds good, but always the music is slower than it should play !

I read in the forum that Mcafee could possibly have bad effects with VDMS (although i don't think it could slow down the music output) and tried to shut down it, along with Zone Alarm Pro, but it didn't make some relevant results...

Actually i'm trying to make DUNE music work, and i tried even Monkey Island 2 (so nice musics... i got VDMS mainly to listen those music again).

The thing that makes me go crazy is that i have a second pc which i use to download and to play second accounts online of mmporgs, and therefore that is not my main pc. Well.. i tried to install VDMS on that (Compaq AMD Athlon 1800, 512ram, geforce mx440, built-in cheap soundcard), and every game plays the music RIGHT !!!!!
AAAAARGH !!!

Am actually trying to make it work through its use (DUNE, speedset 0.04), but the first initial problem is the total assence of DIGITAL SOUND with the use of speedset..
If i can make it work, i'll post here my results.
(hah, what a n00b)

Re-setting the configuration of the game via setup/install programs made it work perfectly.

ONLY ONE LAST FINAL NOTE:

I have always to set manually in the VDMS Autoexec the BLASTER variable.
Any reason?

Ok.. now i'll leave and go listen my favorite music !!!
