Because I am annoyed with the real bad quality output of my CT1740, I decided to go back using the 2230 SB16... it has better output quality, it uses v4.13 DSP , requires no tsr's and passes the "hexen -warp 02" test.. also I see there is a CT chip with the OPL logo on it, so maybe it has a real OPL integrated...
here is a HUGE pic of the card: http://www.yjfy.com/images/oldhard/sound/CT2230.jpg

are there any drawbacks when using this particular model? anyone has any previous experience?
thanks! 😁

You are fortunate that your DSP v. 4.13 soundblaster passes the "hexen warp test", as I thought that only soundblasters with DSP versions 4.05 or 4.16 would not have the "hanging/stuck" note problem.

Just out of curiosity, which wavetable daughterboard did you use in order to perform the "hexen warp -02 test" in pure DOS? Thanks a lot.

I used a DB60-XG .... I will test now with the DB50-XG I will use, I was just bored to remove it from the 1740 🤣

edit: just tried with the DB50-XG, all is well too
