Hello everyone, I'm new to DOSBox and I'm having some trouble starting up the elder scrolls : arena.

I downloaded the The Elder Scrolls : Arena from http://elderscrolls.com, and it directed me that if I wanted to run the game I would need a DOS Emulator, they suggested DOSBox. I downloaded DOSBox 0.72, and ran it. I put the Elder Scrolls files into folder: C:\ARENA and read the instructions for what I needed to do run it via DOSBox...

It tells me first to type this in so I can mount the C drive...
MOUNT C C:\ARENA
then to get into our now mounted C drive...
C:
Now here is where I run into some trouble, it tells me to set the directory to C:\ARENA so I can run the game...
CD C:\ARENA
When I run this command it tells me: UNABLE TO CHANGE TO C:\ARENA

The ARENA file is right there in C:\ARENA and I'm not sure what to do. I don't know if it matters but I'm using Windows Vista...

Help would be great,
Inkcoder

you are mounting c:\arena as C: root, so \ARENA cannot be seen anymore.

Move ARENA folder inside another folder in C: such as DOSGAMES and mount it as mount c c:\dosgames

Ah, ok I did:
MOUNT C C:\
and then CD C:\ARENA
this fixed my problem, thanks eL_PuSHeR!

I recommend a scaler=hq3x for Arena. And something like cycles=10000 is nice too.

Was not what Pusher said. He said:
Create a folder called DOSGAMES at your native C: drive, then move ARENA into the DOSGAMES folder.
In DOSBox,
MOUNT C C:/DOSGAMES
then
C:
then
CD ARENA
