I've installed Dosbox and warcraft 2 on my macbook, and have had no issues making them run. Once the game is running, the keyboard controls using ctrl or alt (for example selecting a group), don't seem to work.
Is this an issue anyone else has experienced, and how could I fix this?

Um, this is not Starcraft. To select multiple units use the shift key. That's about all what the game offers. Press F1 to get to the keyboard overview.

You used to be able to alt-click on one unit, to select the group that unit was previously grouped with.
This worked in Windows 95, I wondered this doesn't work due to key mapping issues?
Warcraft II DOS is missing a lot of the "modern" control features (like for example the "select all units of same type" with a double-click on a unit). You'll find more info in the WCII readme. If you want to have these features, you'll have to use the Battle.Net edition.
The alt-click for previous group works for me though.
