Let me start of by saying that I'm new to DosBox, and the DOS experience that I have is almost exclusive to today's console work, and even then it's not too extensive.

I just found my copy of Magic Carpet Plus lying around and I wanted to set it up again, as it has been a very long time since I've played. My problem is this: the last time I played it, I actually had a DOS machine...

I'm using Vista Business 32-bit and my cdrom directory is D:\.

The furthest I've gotten is with the following:
mount d D:\ -t cdrom
CARPET

The game then displays an image of Magic Carpet or Magic Carpet Hidden worlds. As soon as I choose one and hit enter, it goes back to the command line. I have attached a directory listing of the entire cd in a text file if that helps.

You need to create and mount a C-drive too. The game needs to create these files on the C-drive:

Save-games: C:\Carpet.CD\Save\*.*

Game-configs: C:\Carpet.CD\CP.Dat C:\Carpet.CD\Language.Inf C:\Carpet.CD\SndSetup.*

If you're new to DOSBox, it may be worth trying one of the many frontends out there. I personally recommend D-Fend Reloaded, which makes it very easy to set up specific games (great if you have more than a few lying around). You might have an easier job configuring and starting Magic Carpet Plus then.
