Ive been looking for lots of ways to play again classic games i used to play years ago and i got really exited when i found this DOS emulator. I know little about using DOS, so i looked for D-fend program which pretty much did all nasty work for me. Still, some games have problems i dont know how to solve.
Two of those games i wish to fix are Extreme Assault and Descent, both of them suffer of huge lag which makes them umplayable. I dont think its about graphics resolution, becuase i dont play in fullscreen. Sound and music seems to work OK. Another game called Redneck Rampage has the same problem.

1. Read the readme included with DOSBox

2. Read MiniMax's 60 seconds guide for setting up and running DOSBox:
60 seconds guide to getting your game to run in DOSBox

3. Open the file dosbox.conf in your DOSBox install dir, search for the strings core=auto and cycles=auto, change those to core=dynamic and cycles=max.

4. Keep in mind that DOSBox emulates a full DOS PC w/ VESA graphics and multiple sound cards, so you need a powerful CPU to get decent performance in more recent (i.e. 1994+) games.
