So, I'm trying to get both "Terminator: Rampage" and "Corridor 7" to work on DosBox installed on my Aspire One laptop, but here's the thingies:

1) I get Corridor 7 running and all, but there's no sound at all

2) Terminator: Rampage won't even run, claiming there's no "MSCDEX" driver installed.

My guess is that there's something fishy going on my config file, but I'm pretty much a n00b on DosBox, 🙁

Can somebody give me a hand?

Read my 60 Seconds Guide to DOSBox (and don't just read it - follow it too).

If that doesn't help, come back with details on how you mounted your C and D drives, how you did the install, how you configured sound, music etc.

Reading the aptly named README file will be a good idea too.

Well, now I was finally able to run Rampage... however, it doesn't feature any sound at all either.

Here's the thing: I followed the instructions you mentioned (that is, installing it then selecting soundblaster) and the sound is still not there.

Also, the problem with Corridor 7 is that... well, there's no installation involved.

EDIT: Aaaand... now it has sound... odd...

It lags horribly, though.

For Corridor 7, have you tried increasing cpu cycles with ctrl-f12? Also double check that youre using 0.73. 😉

Corridor 7 is played from the disc but run install from the CD to create a folder for the settings. Then run CORR7CD\SETUP.EXE.

Rampage is also played from the CD but run install and select configure game. The sound settings are stored in the batch files used to launch it.

I think both games default to 3000 cycles when set to auto so change that in the conf file for DOSBox.
