I want to run an old instrument flightsim called IFT-PRO but this is designed for serial input devices, will dosbox enable it to work with a USB device?

DOSBox emulates a gameport joystick but will accept any joystick seen by the host.

Best bet is to try the game and see.

Is it really a COM-port serial device, or are you referring to a gameport device?
