Hi. I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro 460CDT laptop, with a PCMCIA RTL8139-based LAN card, working fine under Win98SE. Now when I boot into DOS mode and want IPX networking, LSL.COM, RTSODI.COM and IPXODI.COM should be sufficient, but RTSODI.COM can't find a PCI/Cardbus card. I then googled and found out that you need to load a special driver, but the toshiba support site doesn't list such a thing.

How do I enable cardbus in DOS?

Thanks in advance,

If you asked me 15 years ago, I'd be able to give you the card enabler software. Good luck finding it now though. But "dos pcmcia card enabler" should help.

I found it. I googled for rtl8139 cardbus DOS and i found a website with a driver for a cardbus rtl8139 some obscure manufacturer, and inside it had the DOS driver with readme. It said it needs encbodi.bat, rtbios, rtpci, then LSL, then rtsodi and then ipxodi. These files were included and it now happily works on my nice notebook 😀
