Does it happen only to me? 😒 I put a nice retro pc in my vga-port of my lcd monitor... OK, dos screen is off-center.... auto-adjust now it is fine. Let's play a game... seems a little off, auto-adjust it is fine again... back to DOS, screen needs auto-adjusting AGAIN! Load a vbe2 tsr? guess what...? yep all modes are off center again!
I wish my LG lcd/tv had an option to auto-adjust everytime a resolution change is detected...
How do you cope?

If I had a euro/dollar/pound for every time I've pressed my monitor's "magic button", I'd be rich by now. In fact, I've pressed this button so many times to centre the screen that the button is beginning to lose its responsiveness.

I didn't bother to get a flat screen yet. (And now there's only 16:9 bullshit to buy...)

I think that situation has detoriated somewhat. I remember that when I was an mid-early adopter of the 15" LCD monitor, that did work fine for Dos/Windows. The only annoying part was the "scaling" effect when it scaled the small resolutions up to its native resolution (1024x768? - don't remember anymore, that was ages ago).
I don't even remember what happened to that monitor...
