I see it's now possible to get 3d glasses that work with lcd screens.

I recall seeing that the old shutter glasses would not work with lcd screens - I'm guessing this is because of the ghosting with early lcd screens. But I guess it could be a complete change in technology.

Anybody know if 1990s shutter glasses work with modern lcd screens?

some do some dont
ps: even modern shutter glasses dont work with modern lcd screens (only the 120hz lcd's)
