I read the readme and all the documentation I could find on the keymapper, and that worked great.

(I'm using version 0.74 and running Star Wars: Dark Forces. Took a while, but the game itself is installed and working great, including sound.)

Since I'm using the DBGL Java frontend it executes and closes the DOSBox emulator every time I run Dark Forces, which means running SETUP.EXE, where the in-game rebinds are, doesn't save any changes from session to session.

I used the DOSBox keymapper to rebind all of the keyboard commands (to be more similar to a modern FPS... WASD movement, etc). So those are fine, I saved my remapped file to a different location and have that set to load on startup of Dark Forces.

However, I can't figure out how to rebind the mouse triggers of DOSBox. In the game, right click moves forward, and the Y-Axis also moves the player forward and back. I want to get rid of/change these events/binds so that every time I move my mouse up or down it doesn't move the player.

However, X-Axis looks side to side, and I want to keep that functionality.

Does DOSBox have any way to change the Mouse events like it does Keyboard events? How do people usually solve this problem?

Thanks for any help.

Nope, only in-game modification works if the game allows it. But it sounds strange
that the game configuration is lost when restarting dosbox, how did you install it?

don't use DBGL when you configure keys...

Sweet that worked.

Also, I went through several incarnations of installing, the first time I selected "typical" instead of "custom," assuming that's what I wanted. Had to go back and install everything so that it would run the sound card installation.

Thanks for the help you two, everything's great now. I *LOVE* this game, Dark Forces for life, best Star Wars series ever (well KOTOR and TIE Fighter are at least as good too)!

I have found solution by me
I launch the mouseoff (mouseoff.com found on internet) before the game and this disabled the mouse at startup.
doing so automatically become work arrows !!!
