I am trying to mount a cue/bin pair for playing Dungeon Keeper on DosBox on Ubuntu, I have version 0.73 installed through the Ubuntu repositories.

On windows I can use this command

imgmount d "C:\KEEPER.cue" -t iso -fs iso

to mount my cue file and play Dungeon Keeper with the cd music 😀

But in Ubuntu I try this command

imgmount d "/home/ckr/ISO/DK/KEEPER.cue" -t iso -fs iso

and all I get back is the following error message:

Could not load image file: /home/ckr/ISO/DK/KEEPER.cue
MSCDEX: Failure: Path not valid.

But if I use the bin file like this

imgmount d "/home/ckr/ISO/DK/KEEPER.bin" -t iso -fs iso

then DosBox mounts correctly, but as this does not mount the audio it is not really an option for me 😖

I suspect this to be a bug as it works on Windows and on Ubuntu it only partially works as I can only mount the bin file and not the cue 😖

Here is the content of the cue

FILE "KEEPER.BIN" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
PREGAP 00:02:00
INDEX 01 33:46:16
TRACK 03 AUDIO
INDEX 01 38:08:09
TRACK 04 AUDIO
INDEX 01 43:35:10
TRACK 05 AUDIO
INDEX 01 48:42:51
TRACK 06 AUDIO
INDEX 01 53:43:43
TRACK 07 AUDIO
INDEX 01 58:30:16

Thanks 😀

Edit: SORRY, I fixed it, the extensions of the files where lowercase for some reason, and the cue contains all capital letter 😖

the cue should look like this

FILE "KEEPER.bin" BINARY
TRACK 01 MODE1/2352
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
PREGAP 00:02:00
INDEX 01 33:46:16
TRACK 03 AUDIO
INDEX 01 38:08:09
TRACK 04 AUDIO
INDEX 01 43:35:10
TRACK 05 AUDIO
INDEX 01 48:42:51
TRACK 06 AUDIO
INDEX 01 53:43:43
TRACK 07 AUDIO
INDEX 01 58:30:16

as my two files are name "KEEPER.bin" and "KEEPER.cue", my bad sorry and thanks for you time 😀

dosbox on linux is case sensitive
So change KEEPER.BIN in the cue file to KEEPER.bin
or rename the file

Supposedly KeeperFX works in Wine. You may want to check into that especially since there is an AI issue with the DOS ver of DK.
