I just downloaded Dosbox 0.74 on a Windows XP. My main goal with Dosbox is to be able to work with old DOS relational database material on a newer system, and for the most part it is working well: the database's search, copy/paste, and other function keys are spot on. The issue I am having is that when I try to view my data from the DB program, it is stringing the information together rather than recognizing delimiting field sizes. This prevents me from sorting the data. However, when I view the data through a data entry screen, the information is delineated correctly in each screen and I can search for whatever I need. Can this be corrected? I am having difficulty finding any forum posts, and am just looking for someone with more experience and expertise

I'm not familiar with this database app, but in xbase terms it looks like you're reading SDF data that doesn't match the fields (the data is in proper columns, but different than the expected layout).

Do you think the problem you're having is specific to DOSBox? Have you tried running the app under another VM with different results?

BTW, the Word document you attached has 2 PNG images embedded in it. In the future, attaching just the image files to your posts will make them more accessible to others.

I have updated your post. Posting screen captures using MS Word format is not very comfortable.

thanks for fixing the screenshots. I'm not very familiar with the DOS format, my dad is trying to update his computer hardware from the old win98 and use DOSbox on a newer system to run his office databases. What would be another viable VM to try it on?
