I know that Reversi and Solitaire were very early Windows games that Microsoft included with Windows 2 (just Reversi) and Win 3.0 (both Reversi and Solitaire).

But what other VERY EARLY games can you recall that actually *required* Windows in order to run? I guess these would be mostly in the Windows 2 and Windows 3.0 era of games, when Win-only titles were pretty scarce.

Anyone recall some favorite (or not so favorite) titles?

Reversi was included in Windows 1.x

The 1985 version of Balance of Power required Windows 1.x
It included a Win 1.0 runtime, or you could run under full version of Windows.
A relatively complex game for early Windows.

A worthy title indeed -- and rated by Computer Gaming World as one of the best computer games of all time!

I remember I owned (still do...somewhere) a shareware CD set (2 CDs) with tons of early DOS titles, but also a bunch of early Windows games as well. Too bad I can't remember many of the Windows titles. I'll have to dig it out again soon -- I had a LOT of fun trying dozens and dozens of games on this set!
