I'm having trouble getting Great Naval Battles IV to work on my machine with VDMSound. The game runs but I can't get the sound to function. GNB4 is an SSI game from '95. It uses setsound.exe to configure sound. I'm running XP with a SBLive! card, latest drivers. I tried to run the game install, the setsound utility and then the game exe with the VDM sound and I continue to get this message

'Couldn't Find Bank'

I then hit a key and the game starts, albiet without sound.

I have an Asus A7V MB w/256MB RAM and SCSI CD drives

Looks like the game can't find a certain file (what it calls its - sound? - 'bank'). Check the game's installation & config for stuff like missing files or hard-coded paths in the config.
