I just got 4 of them from the classic ebay source
Am I right to assume that I just pop two of them in my SB1.5 and it is good to go? 😊

Damn right, amigo 😀
awesome , just wanted to be sure so I don't contribute to the hardware accidents thread 🤣
One more Q, are there any known incompatibilities with them as opposed to using a real GameBlaster ?
So far all the games I tried worked! I had a fluke with Prince of persia, but when I tried it weeks later it magically "just worked"...
There aren't that many games I found, especially popular titles. Games I tested:
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - Adventure
Loom
Monkey Island
Space Quest 3
Police Quest 3
Prince of Persia
Neat, I didn't know anyone actually made/sold those chips still. I didn't know that two identical chips are used - is that just to double the number of available channels? It seems that each chip can output stereo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philips_SAA_1099
There are some games that need a real game blaster....can't remember which one's but I think there were 2-3 games that won't work...think it was Rambo III, Arkanoid II and some other game.
Feels like it was ages ago I fiddled with this.... 😜
thanks for the info, I thought I made this thread to answer my installation question as well as having a dedicated one with info for those "upgrade" chips...
@hunterz: yeah they used 2 so they get 12 channels...
Interesting. Arkanoid II is on my list of original 5.25" floppies to be ripped to an image file for use with DOSBox. I might have to try it in C/MS / Game Blaster mode to see if DOSBox supports that.
If anyone knows shareware games with Gameblaster support please let me know! Makes for some easy and legal testing 😀
Sierra's Hero's Quest I a.k.a. Quest for Glory 1 EGA version and The Colonel's Bequest support and play GameBlaster music - these are the ones that I have recently tested in my CT1320 with the C/MS chips. Nice old school sounds - in stereo. 😀
One of the later games I tested is Space Quest 1 the VGA remake. Has Gameblaster support. I couldn't believe it 🤣
To my dissapointment, copying CMS.DRV to more modern Sierra/Dynamix games don't quite work. 🙁
Anyway, here's some demo that have CMS support. They're apparently freaking hard to find
