Does anyone have the pinout for this card?
Or what the funky connector is so I can make a cable?

heh you are making the same mistake as I did... sound input/output is from the midi/joystick port, not the middle circular one...! After searching and finding nothing I started testing all pins and got output from the joystick port. The missing breakout cable actually goes there 🤣
Unfortunately I can no longer remember what pin is what after all these years

I remember that that was the mouse port, the one the sound comes from isn't any connector I've seen.
I'm not even sure how you'd figure the rest of the pins out aside from audio l/r.

I emailed AMD asking if there were any technical docs that might have the pinout.
It's one hell of a long shot though.

[Edit]
AMD Says that specs and pinout are proprietary and not available to end users.

However, they're going to see what they can dig up so maybe there might be something useful still.

Audio would be easy to figure out, the other pins... not so much.

AMD Doesn't even have it in their database anymore. 🙁

Since I sold my card to someone, I re-found the pins for the audio-out... here they are for future reference...

edit:
also the drivers of the card are uploaded here: http://www.multiupload.com/OFN9Y3D0VC

Are you serious? They really still care about protecting their proprietary secrets on something that old? Unbelievable. It's probably not even under patent protection anymore.

I wasn't surprised, but I've long since sold my VGA Stereo F/X.

Nice hack, it's a shame that you can't use the game port though.
I can't imagine how you'd figure out which pins were for that.

Whoever makes the decision for proprietary connectors is a huge dick, also, try and think of that literally for a funny mental image.

I know this over a decade old, but I think this is relevant and worth it.

Apologies if I am wrong.

Bought it. Will document and post findings.

EDIT: Or, if postage is reasonable, I am willing to gift it to whoever can do a better job than I can.

EDIT2: I think this is for the ATI Stereo F/X, based on connectors. I cannot even find any other clear photos of this.

That's a rare find!

And I think that would be for the ATI VGA Stereo F/X, since that was the card that used that funky connector for audio. IIRC, the non-VGA versions of these cards have regular audio in/out jacks.

Here are some PCB shots, which I was unable to attach without zipping them due to what appears to be some image recompression oddities in the forum software (I reported that here, Re: Board updated. New problems? Complain here! , if curious).

The attachment pcb_shots.zip is no longer available

I think you are right about this thing being for the ATI VGA Stereo F/X . This thing is so rare that I could not bring myself to not get get it, despite having no use for it .

Photos are crappy, I know, but I am a bit low on time these days.

That is a unicorn! excellent catch darry!
If the option exists I would like to have it and eventually fully document 😀

Please PM me with preferred shipping coordinates, Keropi. This thing is small, light and easy to pack.

Wow! Finally it appears!
I would also like to have this device documented and replicated if possible. My card lacks one too. I have the line out exposed (thanks to a mod made by Keropi a decade ago) but would love to have MIDI ports and joystick port.
I trust Keropi to be able to handle this.
