dosbox is for games. games don't need printing. Thus we provide no support for it.

i know it normally is for games, but as I didn't find any other program to run e dos program on windows 7 I use dosbox. I've read there are a lot of other people who use dosbox for old programs, and not just games. So i hoped i got a possetive answer.

Does the program support printing into a file?

Even if DOSBox would support printing, DOS printing is quite different. E.g. only certain specific models where supported (e.g. laser printers) and they all print to the parallel port (which no current printer uses).

i don't know sure about printing into a file,
The problem is, i don't have a parrallel port on my laptop.
my printer supports printing wireless or with usb cable

i've now installed dosbox megabuild 6, but when i run the program, sometimes it gives me errors when i try to open a file. when i was using the normal dosbox, i didn't have that errors. I'd like to download dosbox megabuild 5.0, but on the site you given me I can't download megabuild 5.0?

i've also read about an other way of printing.
can you 'print' it to a .jpg file or pdf or something.
so that when I print in dosbox, it saves what i want to print on a file, and then that I open the file(without dosbox) and print it like that?

Ya you got it basically right. If you can print to a file in your app inside dosbox you should be able to send it to the printer once out of dosbox.
You'll need to print to a file using a compatible printer driver from your app. for your printer.
For example, if you have a 600 dpi laserjet printer then you need to get your app, in dosbox to print to a file using a laserjet output. Some older hp laserjet and injet drivers such as a laserjet II should still print on a new hp laserjet with 600 dpi or higher. You may have to adjust the printer dpi settings first.

How to actually send the print file to the printer can be done several ways. I have a special windows passthru printer driver that will allow it but I haven't yet tested it in XP. Check the web or your printer company site for ways to send print files to your specific printer.
