Was just starting to play Waxworks. Started mapping the Pyramid maze now. But aaaaaarrrrghhhhh...ran out frequently from mapping on the notebook with squares printed on them. Curent square is around 1cm long per side. I need multiple pages to connect the rooms all!

Seems like I need another notebook/page with smaller squares.

Anyone has a ready-made template small enough to map a large room in an A4 size paper? Ready for printing? Running out of paper to map even a small section is enough to loose my mind! Aaaarrrhhhgghhh!!!! 😜

Map-making was part of the fun of playing dos games, those days. Still is! 😁

Thanks for any links or templates! Cheers!

Heh heh. I always hated mapping. The best thing modern RPGs invented are automaping. And yes, I started trying to map Waxworks too a long time ago (on plain paper).

I map things in Windows Paint. Sometimes I start with a screenshot. Other times I just draw squares with different colors.

Ok, I found a free graph printing site : http://incompetech.com/graphpaper/

So far the pdf I printed out looks ok to handle the mazes so far. I have attached the pdf here.

This is my rough work on the Waxworks:

And this is the map when transferred to the printout I made on a A4 size paper :

(Still not complete though. So this is not a free walkthrough! Hehehe 😜)

The values I changed are - Dot Weight to 2.5 and Grid Spacing of 3 Dots per inch.

Great to see some real mapping progress in action! I don't know whether this game has "spinners" in them, but they make mapping more error prone. By "spinners", I mean when you are walking down a corridor, you are spun around by 180 degrees, and if you are not observing the compass all the time, you are unaware that you have been spun around.
