After setting up GUS under sndsetup.exe, get a message upon game start-up reading: Not enough memory available for GUSWAVE. Try initializing Sound Fx before Music.

Now the Apogee website says the following:

Gravis Ultrasound and ROTT
The problem that you are having with the Gravis Ultrasound is that you have your GUS set at a sixteen bit interrupt. Due to the major differences with the architecture of the GUS and other sound cards, we are unable to support sixteen bit interrupts. To get Rise of the Triad running with your GUS, you will need to change the interrupt to an 8bit interrupt, or one less or equal to eight. Otherwise, you will need to select none for you sound effects.

Is this referring to the IRQ value? Or something entirely different?

Problem solved. Just shed the GUS Pro Patches and used the conventional GUS 4.11 drivers.

Do you get scratchy sound in ROTT with your GUS? I do. And the IRQ is 7 or less. :shrugs: 🙁
