Hello
I have a problem....for hours, i´m searching a simple programm like scummvdm to play Kings quest 6. I ´ve got a cd rom version.
But i can´t handle with DOS and i´m not allowed to change system dlls on my computer(my father gets angry)

okay...i found the VDMsound, but does it only works with dos? i´m sorry i haven´t got knowledge about this *snif*
...or does another similar program exist?

Hello. Welcome to this forum. You are on the right track. VDMSound require windows to run. It just adds a nice and comprehensive sound support for DOS boxes inside windows, that is, better sound support when running MS-DOS games inside a windows environment. Read carefully the program documentation. It's not that hard to use. Also, use the SEARCH feature on this forum. It may come in handy. Try looking for king's quest vi. okay, maybe i wasn´t clear...
I read all hints in this forum clearly(although my englis isn´t well*grin*)
That´s strange, but i haven´t a sound problem, the game don´t work:
the sound is working well but the screen isn´t right. The screen is black with a few pixels, but the buttons have got their right colors. okay, then i have change the screen solution on 256 colors, but if i play the game, my computer is shutting down...

jes it is a windows game...

So, it seems you are having video problems (a wild guess according to your latest post). If you know what video card do you have (ATi, nVIDIA, etc) try downloading latest drivers for it. Also run DXDIAG and make sure everything is running properly. And one other thing, check the game configuration to see if it is properly configured. Try standard VGA mode first if it is available. Several cards have VESA problems (accesing modes beyond standard 320x200x256c VGA mode) under Windows XP.

okay, i´ve manage it(some other helped me) and it was really the video card and i have installed the new one, now I can play this great game...thanks to you
